Miracle
by Danielle Steele
Having read all of her books, I think that this one falls a little short. It reads more like a short story that a full-length novel. I was somewhat disappointed in the predictability of the story. Still grieving over the suicide of her teenage son and the painful dissolution of her marriage, Maggie Dartman is resigned to living the rest of her life alone. Her neighbor, widower Quinn Thompson, is also struggling with loss, realizing too late the staggering depth of his late wife’s love.Hoping to escape his painful memories, Quinn plans to sail around the world. But when the storm of the century ravages San Francisco on New Year’s Eve, the powerful tempest brings with it Jack Adams, a young carpenter who repairs more than just their damaged homes. Through the simple gift of friendship, he shows Maggie and Quinn how to weather life’s storms, so they can heal their broken hearts and once again, believe in miracles.
